Great cottage in the magnificant environment of Pembrokeshire. We really enjoyed to stay in a quiet place on David's farm for exploring the wild coast around Saint Davids. The kids really liked playing with the dogs.

We had the best week at Ty Helygen. The house was great and had everything we needed. Janek was really welcoming and on hand if we needed anything, kindly sorting us out with a barbecue for our last night. The location is very easy for St David's and the beach, and it was great being on the farm and having the very friendly collie dogs milling around. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay here. The location is wonderful with so many beaches and walks close by, and the farm itself was wonderfully peaceful. The children loved the dogs outside! Inside is spacious and welcoming. Highlights for us were Whitesands beach, St David's Cathedral, the coastal path and searching the hills for neolithic sites!

This is a lovely cottage in a good location. There were one or two small issues; the freezer compartment in the fridge was broken when we arrived and the door wouldn't shut. Two bulbs were out in the double room. The washing machine broke down but they were great at sorting it out for me. The house itself has good space and is practical. Could do with some pegs and a mop!

David and Alan were both really lovely people. Our children were unwell for a couple of days and had to stay indoors. They provided a dvd player and dvds for them and extra craft materials for our 5 year old. The house was spacious with a well equipped kitchen. It was a great location with plenty to do. Highlights were swimming in the blue lagoon, porthgain and the sloop pub, what a magical place and visit to the bug farm. It was nice meeting other families staying in the cottages next door and our boys loved playing with the well behaved dogs on the farm. Very happy memories of our week. Thank you xx

The 6 of us had a fanatic week in this cottage. It was very spacious, clean tidy and comfortable, used but not worn out. If we ever needed anything, there was someone there at hand to help, plus their local knowledge was very useful. This cottage was very quiet (just what we wanted), very well located with a 7 minutes drive the St Davids, and a supermarket, with plenty of parking room outside the cottage, plus it has a basic games area in one of the barns. Rooms are very well arranged with easy access and well laid out. We had a fantastic time. Thank you.

Lovely holiday home i assume converted from a barn or cow shed. Only issue was the upstairs bathroom could do with a shower over the bath. Kitchen facilities and utensils were great. Cosy feel and well converted. Downstairs bedroom was a bit dampbas musty smell and my mother in law said the drawer where she put some clothes were damp when she removed them Otherwise a lovely home and location and David was pleasant 😊

We had a lovely week staying at Ty Helygen. Cottage is spacious and well equipped with a sunny garden. The children adored the sheep dog’s who are most well behaved dogs I have ever encountered 🙂 David was a welcoming host. Excellent base for a stay in Pembrokeshire…the coastal walk from Caerfai to Solfach was a highlight, as well as a visit to Pembroke Castle, the Bug Farm, Folly Farm and the beach at Whitesands 🙂 Would recommend 🙂

Our holidays with David and at Ty Helygen were great. Close to beaches and hiking trails, this is a great base for water and hiking enthusiasts alike. David is a very warm person and I really enjoyed morning chats with him, as with other neighbours for that matter. There are also six dogs living on the farm, which are very sweet and child-friendly - we had a lot of fun together. The Ty Helygen house is a great symbiosis of old and new and we didn't miss anything. A great holiday - thank you very much, dear David!

We had an amazing week at Ty Helygen. The farm is about two miles outside St Davids in a very peaceful location. Great for walking. We had planned to explore further south too but there is so much to do right on your doorstep . We spent the week walking the coastal paths, swimming, bodyboarding …. And jumping in the Blue LagoonThere is plenty of parking outside the house and everything you need inside . A freezer would have helped us as we tend to self cater - there is a small section at the top of the fridge though. The farm has four very friendly sheep dogs - one even had a litter of puppies whilst we were there ! Our son spent hours playing with them and was so sad to leave! The games room is a great addition too. David and Gareth were great hosts and went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful week. Thank you both.

Generally we were very happy with the cottage, good location, parking and facilities. I personally would have liked a few home comforts, pillows, rugs and bigger pillows on the bed but these are minor niggles. The double bed was a bit soft for me personally but everyone else staying at the cottage found their beds to be ok. The cottage had what we needed as a family ranging in age 13-78. I think a bigger fridge would be helpful for those who are self catering. The one in the cottage may be on its last legs as it did freeze some of our food but other than these minor issues there were a lot of positives too. Such a lovely part of the world. David, the host is very friendly and helpful, my daughter loved the barn and the excited but friendly dogs, she cried when we left the dogs behind. She has pestered me non stop for one since. The views, the peacefulness, the nature, the baby bunnies in the garden in the morning and the simplicity with check in and out. I would definitely choose to stay again if I had the chance.

We had a fantastic stay at Ty Helygen. There was plenty of space in the house for a family of four - 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The farm is about two miles outside St Davids, and is set in a very peaceful location. Great for walking, being around 1 mile from the coast path. We used the house as a base for exploring the local area, and had plenty to keep us busy during our week long stay.Plenty of parking outside the house. The farm has four very friendly sheep dog. Our daughter made friends with all of them during our stay.Overall a great stay and will probably stay here again in the future.

We had an amazing time here. It’s a warm, family home which is a stones throw from so many beautiful places. Great for coastal walks and scenic drives, picnics and sightseeing. We loved being on the farm and David let us help with the lambs. We would love to come back one day.

We were very comfortable, despite the windy conditions (after Storm Eunice, and during Franklin) - we had a couple of noisy nights because of this, but the place was very warm and cosy thanks to the underfloor heating, and the beds were comfortable enough. The farm's dogs were very friendly, and endeared themselves to our kids, one of whom normally avoids dogs. If I had any criticisms, the fridge was switched off when we arrived, and the place could have been a bit cleaner, but it's still a great place to stay, and recommended.

A lovely spacious farm house and with the underfloor heating it was lovely and warm throughout, despite the weather doing its best during our stay! The beds were lovely and comfortable and the shower was fab.

Davids place was in a lovely setting, close to St Davids and lots of great cliff walks. The cottage itself had everything we needed but was a little lacking in soft touches. Great for people with dogs (David had 4 sheepdogs who were free to roam but well trained ), but there was uncleared up dog poo both in the back garden and on the forecourt where the cars were parked.Beware also people with electric cars (our friends visited who own one) as David was insistent that we paid the extra electric costs (just under £6!) on top of our rental costs (just under £800 for the week). We assumed that it wouldn't be a problem to charge the car but admittedly we didn't ask permission . He made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome, which was a shame.

Great week's stay at Ty Helygen. The cottage and its garden were lovely and our 9 yr old son loved playing ball with the dogs outside. The cottage was very well equipped, clean and cosy. Slate flooring downstairs with underfloor heating and wooden floors/tiled upstairs and in bedrooms. Simply but tastefully decorated throughout. The only slight issue we had was that it wasn't always possible to get wifi in the house, but upon asking we discovered that was down to a local area issue which affected everyone.David and his team made us feel welcome and were on hand if we had any queries etc.Hope to visit again soon.

Lovely spacious accommodation, great views, warm and comfortable house. Two bathrooms helped immensely with 3 children. A really accessible location 5 minutes from St David’s and Whitesands Bay. We will come again !
