Idyllic setting for a relaxing holiday within rural Pembrokeshire
The Property
Hafan Hedd is a newly renovated and restored farmhouse situated near Solva, Pembrokeshire. It was established in 1837 and remained derelict for many years. The owners of Hafan Hedd have renovated this cottage to the highest standards keeping the authentic rural countryside feel, along with modern fittings and features.
As you enter the cottage through the front door, you will see the contrast between authentic stone walls and modern touches. There is an open plan living dining area, with a large fireplace fitted with log burner. Just perfect for those cosy relaxing evenings, after a day of exploring Pembrokeshire’s hotspots. To the left is a newly fitted bright kitchen, and to the right is a modern family bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. Up the stairs, you will find a converted bedroom loft area, with a kingsize bed, futon and storage. At the foot of the bed is a chimney breast giving a unique modern look, while encompassing the original wooden beams and authentic original wooden carvings.
Hafan Hedd is located perfectly for walking holidays, and is the ideal setting for couples who want to enjoy some peace and tranquility, within a quiet rural area. And, did we mention, Hafan Hedd is dog friendly too.

Lovely relaxing stay, cosy warm and perfect !

Lesley as a host was brilliant. Fast replies with clear instructions. However we were let down by the cleanliness of the property. We were uncertain whether it had been cleaned at all due to the amount of dust and cobwebs. We arrived around 5 ready to cook some food for find the saucepans and baking trays dirty. That wasn’t a big problem, the issue was when we came to clean them, no washing up liquid was supplied or anything to clean the counters with as well as no hand soap in the bathroom. This was very disappointing as I believe it’s something that should be supplied where ever you go. From a hygiene point of view it was very poor. In the grass we found big shards of broken glass and having 2 dogs with us was concerning, this could have ended badly. The house itself was lovely and like I said the host was lovely but was just let down by the cleanliness of the entire property.

We had a great time during our stay in Pembrokeshire 😀 - It was very clean and comfortable and a good base to explore Pembrokeshire 😞 - Nothing

😀 - Beautiful property. Very well equipped. Comfortable beds! Quiet in lovely surroundings with very pleasant outdoor space. Good location for Solva and exploring the gorgeous Pembrokeshire coast.. Bottle of wine on arrival was a nice touch 😀 😞 - Be aware this is a very quiet location. Absolutely beautiful but you do need a car to get around and there are no easily walkable shops or pubs.

ok 😞 - It wasn't very clean and not very well kitted out, kitchen equipment was very poor and no matches or anyway to light the fire. It all just felt a bit mean.

A very nice small cottage for 2 and a dog. A very comfortable bed. 😀 - Very comfy bed. Very clean. 😞 - No hairdryer. I would also recommend changing the fridge freezer doors to open the opposite way.

Me, my partner and our Labrador had an amazing week in Pembrokeshire while staying at Hafan Hedd. The cottage had more than enough space for all three of us whilst we were out exploring as much of the areas as we could in the week. We didn’t have any hot water on the first morning of our visit but the team at NetLet had the issue resolved within a couple of hours (and it was a Sunday). The property is very quiet but close enough to the lovely areas of Solva and St David’s. We will definitely be back.

😀 - Very remote location meant it was quiet and peaceful, the cottage was fitted to a very high standard which meant our stay was relaxing as we didn't need to worry about anything. Good wifi too. Checking in and out was easy and with What3words we found the place with no bother. It was near enough to Solva and St Davids so not feel like a chore driving there but remote enough to be a nice quiet place to stay. Really enjoyed it. 😞 - I wouldn't say we didn't like anything but you need a car to stay here as there's no way of using public transport. That wasn't a concern for us.

A wonderfully relaxing stay in the Pembrokeshire countryside. 😀 - Self catered. The location is exceptional especially if you enjoy walking down very quiet country lanes. No traffic noise whatsoever. 😞 - Only a minor suggestion for a wooden chopping board - the glass chopping boards are blunting the kitchen knives.

We spent Xmas here and it was simply Perfect. The cottage is idyllic, and the host has gone above and beyond and put up some tasteful decorations and a tree. The log fire was a firm favourite throughout our stay - and the location is spot on to get to the awe inspiring coastline and nearby towns of Solva and the City of St Davids. We can’t wait to go back - thank you Lesley x

Absolute peaceful, quiet and secluded heaven 😀 - I traveled solo with my dog and can highly recommend this cottage for a solo traveler. It is fantastic, newly built with charm and all comfort. I enjoyed the big fireplace and the super comfortable leather sofa in front of it. The bedroom is very spacious, so as downstairs. Incredibly comfy bed and very soft linen. It is secluded, peaceful and very quiet all around - just what i needed. I will definetely be returning. 😞 - It would be very helpful if there was a form of manual especially how to use the stove. I struggled a bit but eventually figured it out. The what3words app is a must since this is rural farming location that is not easy to find on Google Maps. Some matches and firelighter would be great for next time please.

Beautiful immaculate cottage which has all 😀 - Self catering. Location was great but definitely need the App called What Three Words as very remote and all the lanes look alike. 😞 - We liked it all.

Lovely cottage in stunning area with amazing beaches within 15 min drive. 😀 - This was a beautiful, very recently renovated cottage. An amazing job has been done in restoring it beautifully -keeping it modern and fresh but retaining its character. Super-clean. The bed was very comfortable and there is a useful futon if needed. The bottle of wine was greatly appreciated 😊 There’s a beautiful fireplace with logs etc provided. Parking is perfect. The immediate area is VERY quiet (which was great for us). It’s down a long country road in the middle of nowhere. Surrounded by farmland. Beautiful sunsets each evening over fields. The cottage is semi-detached. We didn’t hear any noise from neighbours or even see them. Kitchen was well-equipped. No dishwasher but a washing machine. The wider location (5 -15 mins by car) was AMAZING. Stunning beaches all around in every direction. We loved Solva and Saint David’s. We took a boat trip to Ramsey Island to see the seals which was great. The cathedral in Saint David’s is spectacular and only 15 mins by car. 😞 - The settee downstairs was ok - we’d personally prefer something bigger and softer with maybe an armchair as well -it was a little squashed for two. But fine. Warning - we found the cottage VERY hard to find -even with sat nav. But once there, check in was super easy (key in a key safe). There was no contact from owner from start to finish. This was great for us, but I guess not all would like this. Any info on local walks would have been good. I’ve never had to pay a £250 damage waiver before in all the approx 150 holiday cottages we’ve stayed in. Maybe we’ve been lucky. Having said that, it was paid back about a week after the holiday with no trouble.

Lovely thoughtfully refurbished cottage. If you want peace and quiet and a relaxing rural retreat this is for you. Well equipped for self catering. Also near to beautiful walks on Pembs coastal path, restaurants at Solva and St David's as long as you don't mind a drive. We also picked up a beautiful seafood platter from Mrs Will the Fish on Upper Solva, you can find her on FB. A gem
