The Surroundings
Newport (Trefdraeth), meaning ‘Beach Town’ in Welsh, straddles the Fishguard to Cardigan road at the mouth of the River Nevern. The ancient port of Parrog is the home of a stunning beach, castle, church and other attractions. The location itself is part of the Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park and is very popular with bird watchers, cyclists, tourists and hikers who want to explore Pembrokeshire.
This holiday cottage in Newport is available all year round and suitable for family, romantic or activity based holidays in Pembrokeshire. Its the perfect base to explore the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and beaches of Pembrokeshire whether it be summer or winter. The holiday cottage is a short distance to the beach, town centre, eateries and shops. You can safely leave your vehicle at the cottage while you enjoy what Newport has to offer.
While Newport has plenty to offer during your stay in Pembrokeshire it is within a 30-minute drive from some of Pembrokeshire’s top attractions. Our recommendations would be Dina’s Head, Strumble Head Light House, Fishguard, Porthgain and Abbereidy. Carningli Mountain is a must if you enjoying exploring and hiking. The peak provides 360 degree views of Pembrokeshire. During the incline you will stumble across old hut circles from forgotten civilisations. These were once lived, farmed and defended this part of Pembrokeshire and contribute to our Welsh history.

Great stay at Camelot, such a perfect location, close to the sea and the Parrog. The property was clean and well equipped. (no teapot though) .Slight delay in check in but Lesley let us know so there was no issue. Likely to return soon !

Fantastic stay and nice area, would stay again but not during busier periods. 😀 - Wonderful location, with great views. Property had everything you need for a comfortable stay and lighting the log fire at night was lovely. 😞 - I get previous comments about the privacy, we visited in April, and few people around in close proximity, but no real issue, during summer months I imagine it is lot busier, but then again you are right on sea front.

This is a wonderfully located cottage, very close to the sea and to local walks and only a short stroll to the shops. The cottage is well laid out with good facilities and with linen and towels provided. The garden is not enclosed and public access is adjacent to the house which is something to consider if you have a dog, but otherwise it is a fabulous place to stay

An absolutely unique position in the Newport/Parrog area with stunning views all round of river, estuary, sea and Carn Ingli mountain. If you love gazing at sky, water, weather and birds then you will love it as much as us. However, if you are a very private person you might find that so many windows could leave you feeling a little exposed as their are footpaths all around the property.
It's very cosy and we felt very much at home here. Our Labrador loved having such close access to a beach and the water, and we will definitely be coming back.

Superb Amazing location right on the beach. Well equipped Kitchen with modern and functioning appliances. Incredibly comfortable beds. Bathroom a little tired as was some if the decor but it was incredibly relaxed. Beautiful spot, children and dogs lived it. Definitely will book again!
Very close to public areas so lacked privacy. Could be loud and busy when High Tide and people playing on boats having barbeques etc. Decor a bit tired and worn in places.

We enjoyed our stay at Camelot and would recommend to others Lovely view of the sea, close to the coastal path. Walking distance to pubs and restaurants
People walking right past the windows as no real boundary. An enclosed garden would be better for anyone bringing a dog

Incredibly well equipped home great location only down side would have been good to have a fence off section for dogs and we didn’t quite expect visitors walking around the whole house definitely a gold fish bowl x

This cottage is an absolute delight. What a find. You are right on the waters edge, able to see the tide come in and out from the window seat. It’s so peaceful, yet both an easy walk into town for amenities as well as right on the coastal path for fantastic walks in either direction. Brilliant for dogs, as you’re in a quiet cul de sac so they can pop outside for an easy wee or go for a much longer walk without having to get in the car - although there are plenty of good hill walks and other beaches to drive to. Accommodation is basic but had everything we needed and was good value for money given the stunning location. We had an issue with the gas bottles being empty when we checked in so no heating or hot water the first night. But it was sorted quickly and courteously by the lettings company who also gave a partial refund so it was all fine. Overall we would definitely return and this is a really special place.

We loved our stay here and would highly recommend this place. It’s a beautiful location next to the estuary and beach and with the town and hills as backdrop. It couldn’t really be better. We found the house very clean, well equipped and comfortable. We stayed during a very cold April and it was warm in the day and at night. Newport is a nice town with good food shops/cafes and the coastal scenery is stunning. It’s very well placed for the northern sections of the coastal footpath and there’s a good bus service connecting the main towns. To be able to watch the sunset over the sea from the house was just lovely.

A beautiful location with lovely views. There are a lot of people walking past, but after a while we didn't really notice them.Highly recommend early morning walks at low tide when you can have the beach to yourself. Area is very dog friendly.
